Every week, we spotlight our Pilgrim team behind the scenes, and share their thoughts on upcoming projects and fun facts about what it’s like working at Pilgrim. From shows including Nat Geo’s “Wicked Tuna” and Lifetime’s “Bring It“, to our digital channel, 1620 Media, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do, without the awesome team we work with everyday. This week, we’re spotlighting Mary Dizon, Digital Content Marketing Manager, as the Pilgrim of the Week. Read what Mary had to say about working alongside the digital team in bringing television to the social world:
1. What do you do at Pilgrim?
Hey there! I’m the Digital Content Marketing Manager for Pilgrim/1620 Media. I manage the digital presence of 1620 Media, Hotched TV and Pilgrim. I also curate content, review analytics, and make sure that if something is trending on social, we’re on it! For today, I’m promoting our show Bring It! on social which we LIVE-tweet, and I also posted our throwback episode of Inside the Extras Studio with Breezy Voices. Right now, I’m planning a social contest for Wicked Tuna so stay tuned for that. 🙂
2. What’s the coolest project you’ve worked on?
There’s so many fun shows we work on here. I would say one of my favorites is Bring It! I love seeing the dancing that the girls do and the drama. LIVE-tweeting along with the audience is also super fun. It’s crazy knowing how many people use Twitter to share their thoughts, and seeing our shows like Bring It! and Ghost Hunters trending is rewarding knowing that the audience loves these shows.
3. What’s the best thing that happened to you this week, either at work or outside of it?
One of the coolest things that happened this week was I recently got invited to this music series called So Far Sound LA. It’s secret shows in Los Angeles that bring magic back to live music. I’m excited to check it out! I love a good adventure and exploring new places and events around LA.
4. Fill in the blank: If you really knew me, you’d know_____.
If you really knew me you’d know I LOVE dancing. Fun fact: I’ve never lost a dance battle.
5. Who do you nominate for Pilgrim feature and why?
Sarah Nelson, because she’s hilarious and smart! And also she was one of my first friends at Pilgrim 🙂
