Meet Christian Navarrete, Director of Esports & Gaming. Read on to find out the coolest project he’s worked on and the best thing that’s happened to him this week:
What do you do at Pilgrim?
Director of Esports & Gaming. WAIT, what’s that?! At the intersection of the television world and the gaming world, opportunities exist to tell rich unscripted stories within the competitive $90 billion gaming space. It’s my job to find those stories.
What’s the coolest project you’ve worked on?
I developed a concept that garnered the attention of my favorite film director. Having him partner with Pilgrim was a huge personal victory – it’s the kind of thing you dream about for when you pack your car and move to LA.
What’s your favorite Pilgrim show?
Wicked Tuna. It’s like 2 shows in one – one part occu-soap, another part competitive. And it’s immersive – you can practically smell the saltwater air when you watch it, and the sound of a frantic fishing line never gets old.
What’s the best thing that happened to you this week, either at work or outside of it?
I’ve discovered pizza can be made with cauliflower instead of dough and it’s delicious. In fact, you need to try it immediately.
