Pilgrim of the Week: Mike Nichols, Executive Producer

New week, new Pilgrim of the Week! Here are Pilgrim, we make sure to highlight the awesome team behind your favorite reality TV shows. This week, we’re featuring Mike Nichols, Executive Producer for shows including Wicked Tuna, Ghost Hunters, Love At First Flight and more. Read on to find out the coolest project he’s worked on and the best thing that’s happened to him this week:

What do you do at Pilgrim?

I’m an Executive Producer.

What’s the coolest project you’ve worked on?

That’s a loaded question. Hard to choose between great shows like Ghost Brothers, Ghost Hunters, Wicked Tuna… you get the idea. But The Runner may have been the coolest because I got a glimpse into the future of our industry. It was without a doubt the most challenging project of my career. It was also cool because Craig (President and CEO of Pilgrim) was so genuinely excited by it and was so involved. That said a lot.

What’s the best thing that happened to you this week, either at work or outside of it?

You mean other than the Peaches BBQ truck? The premiere of Love At First Flight. It’s a very fun relationship show that many people worked very hard on – and their hard work paid off. Best relationship show EVER! (In my unbiased opinion.)

If you could describe yourself in 3 emojis what would it be?

The more I use emojis the older I look. But here we go…

What’s your favorite Pilgrim show?

Excluding projects I’ve worked on… it’s a tie between Street Outlaws, Fast-N-Loud, Bring It, Ultimate Fighter, Raising Whitley.

Fill in the blank: If you really knew me, you’d know_____.

I’m a family guy. I’m lucky to have Daliah, Dylan and Ella in my life. They make the world a better place. We have a beta fish named Rocco Bama. We have two dogs named Max and Lucky. I enjoy fishing for Trout and Bass because on most lakes you don’t get cell service and I make the kids go with me – so they’re trapped and forced to talk to me.

Who do you nominate for Pilgrim feature and why?

Chris Arundel. Aka RAMBO! Because he doesn’t have enough going on.
